Low Birth Rates Will Accelerate Women’s Freedom

I’ve often said that the strongest action you can take to advance women’s freedoms is to not have children. This simple act on your side is stronger than any amount of writing or sharing that we could do at 4B America. By not having children, you show that your body is not a tool to advance men’s interests. You are not an incubator. You will not put yourself through suffering to create another slave for the patriarchy.

Refusing to give birth doesn’t just bring freedom to you. It brings freedom to women all around you. Many women who previously thought that having children was a natural stage of life, will be inspired by you to opt out and avoid permanent bodily injury. Unfortunately, there are many births that are forced onto women out of systematic oppression. Lowering the birth rate can however still free these women. But how?

The patriarchal system of forced birth requires infrastructure built around children to function. As the birth rate lowers, daycares close, schools close, and the prices of children’s goods increases. Large homes for raising families become much more expensive.

When society shifts away from childrearing and the nuclear family, men have less opportunities to oppress women and to force them into birth. The false of allure of marriage and romance no longer works on women when the reality of the expense of childrearing is impossible to ignore. Men’s coercion isn’t always developed in an instant. It’s a step-by-step manipulation tactic where men draw women in slowly, beginning with friendships developing into relationships, and eventually keeping them trapped with pregnancy. Without the infrastructure for children in place, men cannot draw women in with false promises of love and family. Men lose power.

Women are rapidly reaching towards freedom in England, with the birth rate so low that 800 primary schools may close by 2029. Women are awake. No matter how much propaganda comes from politicians or economists, they will not go back to being incubators. The more men try to push back against women’s rights, the more women will lower the birth rate. As these schools close down, more women will realize that they don’t have to have children. Every closure of a children’s institution means more power away from patriarchy, and a shift towards a culture that puts women first.

Of course, children should have a quality education, but this will occur better by concentrating the remaining schools in urban areas. Rural areas are a disaster for women and children, being highly conservative, misogynistic places, that are stagnant in worldviews. As women and children flee rural areas and concentrate more heavily in urban ones, the birth rate will further go down, as urban areas are progressive, and progression means not having children.

We have to make it too expensive to have children. We have to take down the infrastructure and industries. We do not need male-based violence and destruction to achieve this. All we have to do is opt-out, peacefully, and the patriarchy will meet its end on its own. ♀
