Men Cannot Stop the 4B Movement
The 4B movement — which stands for “No Dating, No Sex, No Marriage, No Childbearing with Men” — is rapidly gaining momentum. Some women express concerns that men might react with violence as it grows. However, the truth is that this movement has the potential to make women significantly safer. By opting out of relationships with men, women reduce exposure to the most common forms of abuse: intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and the mental coercion associated with cohabitation. While the world can be dangerous, especially for women, distancing from intimate relationships with men can help mitigate certain risks significantly.
Why Men Can’t Stop the 4B Movement
Men cannot halt this movement because, despite their misogyny, they lack a unified front. The men who are most vocal about anti-feminist ideologies are fragmented across multiple groups and ideologies, including incels, the “red pill” community, “men going their own way” (MGTOW), and traditional conservatives. These groups often view each other with disdain, competing over whose ideology is “correct” and undermining one another’s credibility. Racism, nationalism, and classism are also rampant within these circles, further splintering them.
Additionally, most men, even those with sexist beliefs, are apathetic toward organized efforts to control or counter feminist movements. They are more invested in personal interests like entertainment, leisure, and their day-to-day routines. Most men are content as long as they can play video games and watch TV shows, and are unphased by calls for violent revolution. While these men may hold misogynistic beliefs privately, the majority of them find it unnecessary or embarrassing to actively join anti-feminist groups or engage in political movements. These apolitical men vastly outnumber those in the “manosphere”, and their lack of commitment to a structured cause weakens any collective opposition to 4B.
The Evolution of Feminism and Rising Female Independence
While men in some circles have reacted to the 4B movement and similar feminist efforts with hostility, women are advancing rapidly in areas like education, finance, and professional life. As they achieve financial independence, they gain more control over their lives and choices, moving further away from reliance on male-dominated structures.
Despite certain setbacks in women’s rights — such as the recent overturning of Roe v. Wade in the United States — feminist movements continue to evolve. Women are pushing for a reimagined society where patriarchal norms are challenged at every turn. Birth rates in many parts of the world are decreasing as women make conscious decisions to prioritize personal growth over traditional family structures. This movement empowers women to assert control over their bodies, lives, and futures.
The Future of 4B and Women’s Collective Power
The rise of far-right ideologies, particularly those aimed at restricting women’s rights, represents a last-ditch effort by some men to retain control over society. However, their own divisions — and women’s growing awareness and solidarity — work against them. As the 4B movement spreads, it opens new dialogues about women’s autonomy and challenges societal expectations of relationships, family, and gender roles.
It’s crucial for women to continue supporting one another, educating themselves, and finding solidarity within movements like 4B. For those who fear men’s backlash, the answer lies in collective resilience. Men may attempt to undermine or criticize the 4B movement, but they lack the unity and momentum that women have. This is a transformative time, one where women are increasingly empowered to take control of their lives without the limitations imposed by a patriarchal society.
In the end, the 4B movement is a powerful testament to women’s autonomy, their right to choose, and their ability to shape a society that serves their interests. While men may try to resist, they cannot stop a movement driven by women’s desire for independence and self-determination. This is our time to redefine our roles and build a future free from patriarchal expectations. The future is one where women stand together, united, empowered, and unstoppable. ♀
