Russia represents some of the worst patriarchy out of any nation in the world. For centuries, they have engaged in genocidal conquests, pillaging nearby nations in an endless quest for greed. They don’t stop at other nations either, making sure that their own people are dutifully plundered as well. Wealthy Russian men buy yachts and live lavishly with stolen wealth, while 20% of Russians don’t have indoor plumbing. Poor Russian men are no better either, engaging in extreme amounts of domestic abuse, alcoholism, and societal violence.
Russian men throughout history have committed acts of mass rape when invading other nations. They are once again committing these heinous acts in their invasion of Ukraine.

Vladimir Putin himself demonstrates the dangers of unchecked male power. He callously threatens with nuclear weapons, weapons which can instantly exterminate millions of lives. He is content to send hundreds of thousands of his own male citizens to their own death, at rates that would alarm even those in the most war-obsessed nations. Not only this, but his male citizens continue to support him, believing that they are righteous for committing genocide against their neighbors.
Worst of all, these affairs are seen as normal in Russia. The males of Russia do not value their own lives nor the lives of anyone else. Death and destruction and poverty is expected as the norm, and most of the males would rather continue to support Putin and the oligarchy instead of supporting actual freedom and well-being for themselves. Russia had the resources to become developed on the level of European nations, but they chose a path of endless poverty and plundering instead. Russia had all the potential to be a world leader in many affairs, but chose a path that led them to become one of the most hated nations in the world.
Russia itself, and not just Vladimir Putin, is the epitome of unchecked male power. Russia is a terrorist state that is unsustainably economically and morally, and one that will no doubt come apart at the seams. Like the Soviet Union fell in 1991, Russia is bound to fall soon. Like the Soviet Union, Russia is an amalgamation of stolen nations and citizens. After the crumbling of Russia, many of these free nations will have the chance for self-determination. It’s a chance for better women’s rights to unfold in the aftermath.
Russia’s undoing will ultimately come from their defeat in Ukraine. What often isn’t stated in the media is the importance of women in the role of repelling the Russian invaders. There are more than 67,000 women in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These women proved that they could excel in combat roles, and many have fought and died on the front lines to protect their country from Russia’s genocidal regime.
Women’s resistance movements may get looked over, but they are extremely vital to every triumph over an oppressor. While women have always been important for maintaining resistance at home, the Ukraine War is the first time that so many women have fought on the front lines directly against the oppressor. The Russian war machine is now finally beginning to collapse with Putin’s squandering of decades of war equipment and Russian men.
Every time a Russian male dies on the battlefields of Ukraine, the world becomes a better place to live in. 🌻
