Talks of Increasing the Birth Rate Are Rapist Rhetoric Disguised as Political Policy
The Trump administration has recently echoed calls for increasing the U.S. birth rate—a theme pushed by authoritarian leaders around the world. But this is not just bad policy. It is not misguided economic planning or simple social conservatism. It is something much more insidious: rapist rhetoric dressed up as political discourse. When leaders talk about “incentivizing” women to have more children, they are essentially saying that women’s bodies exist to serve national, cultural, or economic agendas. This is state-endorsed coercion.
Just like countless other regimes, the Trump camp proposes vague and laughable “rewards” for birthing children—like offering $5,000 to women, when the actual cost of raising a child in the United States exceeds $500,000. This is not support; it’s a bribe. And it exposes the true logic: men want more women giving birth, not for the sake of women, but for the sake of the system that men run.

Let’s be very clear: calls to increase the birth rate are not policies. They are rape culture in disguise. They presume women’s wombs are communal property—subject to national plans and male desires. They suggest that women’s autonomy is a problem to solve. And they frame reproduction not as a personal decision, but as a state duty.
This rhetoric is no different than the dystopia of The Handmaid’s Tale. Leaders like Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and JD Vance present themselves as protectors of society, but in truth they are pushing a vision where women are nothing more than reproductive livestock.
When politicians and pundits speak about demographic collapse, falling consumer markets, or pension crises, they are using economic scare tactics to hide their true message: women must be coerced into giving birth whether they want to or not. They are trying to mask forced birth with sanitized terms and “reasonable” concern, but the message is the same—it is about control.
And this coercion doesn’t always come through violence. Often, it’s delivered through lifelong indoctrination, religious shame, conservative media, and social pressure from family and institutions. Whether by force or manipulation, the result is the same: women who do not want to give birth being made to do so.
But here’s the truth that none of these men want you to hear: there is no birth rate crisis. The world population is at its highest in recorded history. The Earth and its systems are already stretched to the brink. More births won’t fix anything—they will deepen poverty, worsen climate collapse, and keep women locked in cycles of unpaid labor.
No number of children will ever satisfy these men. No policy will ever be “enough” for them, because the real goal is not economic balance—it is the domination of women’s lives.
That is why we must reject this rhetoric entirely.
Go 4B. Don’t date men. Don’t marry men. Don’t give birth for men. Don’t raise sons for a system that doesn’t see you as human. We cannot build a free future for women if we are still serving the very machine that oppresses us.
Your body is not a solution to their crisis. You are not a resource to be used. You are not their tool.
Refuse their bribes. Reject their agendas. Break the cycle. ♀
