The United Kingdom Bans Strangulation in Porn

The United Kingdom has recently taken large steps to restrict the porn industry. A few months ago, they began to require age verification for those that wanted to access pornographic content online. Now, the United Kingdom has become the first country to ban strangulation in pornography.

The government of the United Kingdom states the following:

Possessing or publishing depictions of strangulation or suffocation in porn to be criminalised with duties on platforms to stop the proliferation of these images

It’s surprising how fast the viewpoints on strangulation are shifting. Many used to believe it was harmless behavior or described it as a normal part of sex, but now in online spaces, many are spreading the message that no amount of strangulation is safe at all.

Let it be clear that all porn is abusive, not just those that feature strangulation. However, it was unexpected for any country to take action on this issue so early. Now, women in the United States and other countries can also push for similar laws to be passed. While we want all porn to be banned, any restrictions on porn are sure to massively hurt the profits of porn producers.

Italy Passes Age Verification Law

Italy has recently passed a new law, requiring age verification to be implemented for those viewing porn sites by February 1, 2026. Italy is next in a long list of European countries and United States states that have chosen to implement age verification measures.

Age verification significantly lowers the profits of the porn industry’s traffickers by making pornographic content more difficult to access. Pornhub has even attempted to appeal to large tech companies recently, citing extremely large drops in traffic, with decreases of 80% both in the United Kingdom and in the state of Louisiana in the United States.

Take Action, Demand Legislation

It’s clear that the men that run the porn industry are scared senseless by the legislation that is appearing all around the world. Now is the time to keep up the pressure. Call for age verification laws to be passed in your countries and states. Demand that porn industry executives are held accountable for the rape and trafficking that occurs on their platforms.

Women are coerced into doing porn at very young ages. They are dehumanized and objectified purely because of male depravity. There is no willful choice for women in this industry. Let us put an end to the porn industry for good, and restore choice to all women. ♀
