Why Women’s Sports Isn’t the Answer
Sports are dangerous. No, not just when men enter women’s sports. Sports are dangerous even if it is women against women. Sports are really nothing but the ultimate form of male brutality; they are the male simulation of war. Many sports have injury rates as bad or worse than those that come with the usage of hard drugs. We do not need to emulate men’s violence and brutality in order to be free. It is possible to engage in fitness without emulating men’s dangerous sports activities.
Any other activity that caused as much head injuries as sports would not be allowed, but society ignore the consequences in sports because of some convoluted male values about “sportsmanship” and “teamwork.” It’s not just men’s football that has been linked to Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, it is also highly prevalent women’s sports like volleyball, basketball, and hockey. The brain does not heal the same as other body parts and every hit to the head can cause irreversible damage. Over time, these microscopic holes in the brain can build up, leading to problems like depression, memory loss, confusion, and aggression.
Consider the rise of the WNBA. At first, I was elated by this news. But has this really been good for women? Sure, a select few women earned a lot of money. At the same time, now men’s tribalism has taken ahold in women too. Look at the example of the fights on the field. Women are being pushed into an arena where they assume the same problematic and violent behaviors as males.
People cheer this type of behavior on and it drives views and so-called “engagement,” while the reality is that the emulation of male violence and tribalism is separating women in the name of “rivalry for entertainment.” The sports entertainment complex serves as nothing but a distraction where fans constantly debate about statistics and put down other players in favor of others. Women don’t need to be distracted and divided by capitalistic favoritism and localism. The irrational uplifting and hatred of players for no real reason at all. This is a men’s behavior that we do not need to be a part of.
Sports is something where only a few succeed at the expense of millions who spend lots of time wasted watching television, gambling, or those who spend thousands a year on equipment and coaches, many of who are lied to and told to push their studies and career prospects aside in favor of these dangerous and brutal games. Parents buy into the delusion that their children can be the next sports stars and they try to live vicariously through their children. This problem drives endless stress in society that simply doesn’t have to be.
What About Removing Men From Women’s Sports?
Of course we don’t need men in women’s sports. But women’s sports are not something special in itself that we need. These are ultimately meaningless and violent forms of competition that create unnecessary rivalry and spectacle. Why do we need to score and gamify fitness like males do? There are ways to stay active and healthy without feeding into violent capitalistic culture.
Furthermore, the reality is that many of the women’s organizations that advocate heavily for women’s sports do not care about feminist issues. Often, these are conservative, pro-life, Trump-supporting women that just want to remove men from women’s sports and then do nothing else. After that is done, they’ll continue to have boyfriends and husbands, and go to a Christian church and worship a patriarchal god. This subject itself warrants an entire article eventually, but sports are just another part of the conservative pipeline of putting “Jesus, America, football, and God” above all.
Conservative women advocate like men, putting sports above important issues like women’s right to abortion, even elevating racist and sexist figures like Charlie Kirk simply because he wanted to get men out of women’s sports. At 4B America we’re no longer going to be sharing content from these types of organizations, because we don’t care about sports, nor the fascist and rapist men that these conservative women support.
What Should Be Done?
We should always fight sexism, like when men throw sex toys onto the women’s basketball court. Men who participate in these activities should be prosecuted. But even if men were to be completely removed from the equation, sports would always lead to women fighting and injuring each other and participating in male-like rivalries. What benefit does this have to each women? None. When blood spectacles are put above all else, we simply all lose.
We do not need to participate in or watch sports. Let’s not let men make money off of the destruction of women’s bodies. There has been enough of that in the world.
Keep your body healthy. Exercise and eat a nutritious diet. But don’t fall for men’s sports propaganda, which is nothing but endless, violent, capitalistic competition. Women have always been able to change the world without violence. We don’t need to be like men. We just have to keep being like us. Use your words and do good with them. ♀
